Cane Bolt Latches
Latches are mechanical fasteners designed to temporarily join moving parts and release them when actuated. They play a vital role in ensuring security by keeping doors, cabinets, and other enclosures closed to prevent unauthorized access. While they aren’t as secure as padlocks, latches are fitting in several applications.

What Is a Cane Bolt Latch?
A cane bolt latch, also known as a drop bolt, gate cane bolt, gate latch, or gate stop, is a latching mechanism that is primarily used for keeping single gates or double gates closed or open. They are also widely used for interior and exterior doors.
The latching system works by using a metal rod that is dropped into a hole in the ground to lock a gate into position, effectively anchoring the gate or door in place. This prevents the gate or door from swinging open or closing freely. The door latch itself is a spring-loaded metal pin with a handle. The slide bolt is lifted to engage and lowered to disengage.
