Multipoint Latches
Latches are needed to temporarily secure two or more objects or surfaces together while still allowing for easy separation and quick access when needed. Sierra Pacific Engineering & Products (SPEP) offers comprehensive latching hardware to hardware distributors and OEMs who serve various industries.
SPEP takes great pride in designing and manufacturing high-quality access hardware built to maintain its integrity and maximize its lifespan. Our engineers offer custom-designed hardware solutions to meet our customers' exact needs. We provide a range of latches but for even more security and durability, we recommend our multi point latches.
Multi point latches differ from traditional deadbolts and provide users with several added benefits, such as enhanced security for increased peace of mind. Discover more about multipoint locking systems and explore our inventory at SPEP.

What Are Multi Point Latches?
Multi point latches, also called three-point latches, are locking mechanisms that use multiple contact points to secure an entry door, access control panel, or other enclosure. The multipoint lock features a central handle with two long bars that extend vertically from the handle, sliding up and down to engage keepers fixed to the door frame or enclosure. The bars are connected to a rotating mechanism linked to the handle, which allows the handle to extend and retract the bars upon being turned, locking all points on the door in a smooth motion.
Because multipoint locks are a requirement of NEMA standards, this type of latching system is commonly seen on semi-trailer doors and in electronic enclosures. Multipoint latches are specifically designed to provide exceptional strength and protect doors from warping. They are more secure than single-point latches because they distribute force evenly across the door.
