Adjustable Grip Pawl Latches

Adjustable grip latches use a rotating cam, or pawl, to engage either the door frame or a keeper as the handle rotates, compressing the door against the frame. These latches are designed with a long shaft or bolt separating the handle from the cam, with some mechanism that allows the grip length to be adjusted to fit the exact dimensions of the door or doorframe.

Adjustable grip latches are commonly used for buses, electronic enclosures, HVAC systems, trucks/trailers, marine, and other applications.

Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products manufactures an adjustable screwdriver turn latch in stainless steel or nickel-plated steel, with bolts of different lengths to accommodate different door sizes.
