L-Handles
As a leading manufacturer of industrial access hardware, Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products (SPEP) has an extensive inventory of latches and handles, including L-handles. L-handles, which are actually a simple form of latch, are a highly reliable and cost-effective type of access hardware. Due to their versatility, L-handles can be used for a broad range of applications. To meet the needs of our entire client base, we manufacture L-handles in a wide array of sizes, styles, materials, and finishes.
More About This Section
What Is an L-Handle Used For?
L-handles are typically used to provide access to shed doors and other kinds of enclosures. They can be installed in a variety of configurations. When a user turns an L-handle, it rotates a cam inside the mechanism, which then releases the access panel or door.
Most L-handles require a quarter turn (90-degree rotation) to disengage the cam. However, SPEP also offers half- and full-rotation options upon request. We also provide front mount and blind mount L-handles.
Types of L-Handles
SPEP’s selection of L-handles can be grouped into three broad categories:
Non-Locking: These simple L handles do not have built-in security features, nor can they accommodate a padlock
Padlockable: Padlockable L handles feature an external latch that will accommodate a padlock for security
Key-Locking: Our key-locking L handles provide an additional layer of security, allowing you to easily restrict access to a shed, container, or other enclosure
Our non-locking L-handles are our most affordable configuration. However, SPEP’s key-locking and padlockable L-handles are cost-effective options for when you want to provide extra security for your enclosure.
L-Handle Finish Options
Choosing the appropriate finish for your L-handles is key to maximizing usability and service life. As you select your material and finish options, you should consider the environment your handles will be used in, any security concerns you might have, and the aesthetic demands of your project.
